Skillset is the UK government funded Sector Skills Council (SSC) for Creative Media which comprises TV, film, radio, interactive media, animation, computer games, facilities, photo imaging and publishing.  ALPSP is involved in guiding the work of Skillset related to publishing through membership of the Publishing Skills Council which is made up of representatives from employers and relevant industry organisations.

Nick Evans, became Chair of the PSC in May 2009.  Jackie Mitchell from the Royal Society of Chemistry is also a member of the Council as an employer representative from the non-profit scholarly sector involved in journal publishing.
